I am one lucky girl!
I know that it is only Tuesday, but I am enjoying this week sooooo much.
I had a meeting with four others teachers, and we talked about novels and teaching. I left feeling uplifted and happy.
I have also been discussing Life of Pi by Yann Martel with my students, and today, my students caused me to have a complete paradigm shift on the topic of "The Will to Live." During my planning time, I went upstairs to discuss this paradigm shift with another teacher, and we had a quite delightful conversation on Life of Pi and "The Will to Live". We were even able to connect this to cycling training since he is a fellow cycling racer.
I also started Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury with another group of students, and they are excited, and liking it, and I am seeing tremendous growth since the beginning of the school year. At the end of one of my classes, I was excitedly dancing from the joy that I felt about these students 'getting' Fahrenheit 451.
You know, I never take for granted that I get the opportunity to talk about literature every single day and get paid for it...
I am one lucky girl!
